Timothy E. Silvia, 40, of North Truro, died on Saturday in Provincetown.
Born and raised in North Truro, he was the son of Emanuel “Sonny” and Susan (Harris) Silvia. A graduate of Cape Cod Regional Technical High School, he was an auto body technician and co-owned Pleasant View Auto Body in North Truro with his childhood friend, Roddy Artruc.
Mr. Silvia enjoyed riding motorcycles, NASCAR and restoring automobiles. He also loved spending time with his children and going camping.
In addition to his parents in North Truro, he is survived by a son, Brandon Donahue of Wellfleet; a daughter, Meredith Hatchard of Brewster; and a step-son, James Rego of Wellfleet. He also is survived by three brothers, David Silvia of Truro, and Peter Silvia and Michael Silvia, both of Medford; a sister, Jenny Smith of North Eastham; a maternal grandmother, Ruth Griswold of Maine; aunts Mary Louise Silvia of North Truro, Ann Kelly of Truro and Catherine Anderskow of Illinois; uncles Wright Harris of Rhode Island and Butch Joseph and Kenneth Joseph, both of Truro; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends [were] invited to call at the McHoul Funeral Home, Howland Street and Harry Kemp Way in Provincetown.

Longtime Seashore Advisory Commission member
Edward Simon, 85, of South Wellfleet, died early on Feb. 28 at Cape Cod Hospital. He was the husband of Norma Simon.
He was born in New York City, and his family moved to Golden's Bridge, N.Y., in the early 1930s. He graduated from Katonah High School to attend New York University in the Bronx. He graduated from Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy. He served as an officer on Liberty Ships in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans during WW II. After the war, he completed his B.A. degree in psychology at New York University.
He began his career in advertising in the market research departments of agencies in NYC. He and his family lived in Norwalk, Conn., during these years. In the late 1960s, his family moved to South Well?eet, where they had summered since the 1950s. He continued working in advertising as a market research consultant.
He served as Well?eet_s representative on the Cape Cod National Seashore Advisory Commission for 14 years. He was on the board of the Friends of the National Seashore, and of Spring Brook Center (Wellfleet Cinemas). He was an avid gardener and a passionate fisherman. He enjoyed the many pleasures of "hunting and gathering" with his family and friends during each Cape season. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He leaves his wife; his children, Stephanie Posner, of the Bronx, N.Y., and Jonathan Simon, of Barkhamsted, Conn.; his sister, Pearl Stachelszyk, of Boynton Beach, Fla.; in addition to his two grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held by the family. Donations may be made in his memory to The Well?eet Conservation Trust, P.O. Box 84, Well?eet, MA 02667.
