Marriage Notes (Doctor John Whitney)
"On 9 May 1751 Josiah Sears was appointed guardian of John and Nathaniel, minor sons of John Whitney of Eastham, physician. On 16 Apr 1759 a wood lot in Harwich, south of Cleft Pond, was divided, a half being assigned to Nathaniel Bacon, a third to Enos Knowles, and a sixth to the Whitneys, grandchildren of Samuel Knowles, Esq."
This indicates that Dr Whitney had died, and implies that Josiah and Seth Whitney died young. 15
