"Daniel, husband of Martha, died 14 July 1800, aged 86 years, 14 days."

[The transcription is noted as approximate by Capecodgravestones.com. This stone has been transcribed at least three times, with varying readings. Using the husband's given name to identify the wife would be unique in this time and place. The adjacent stone is for Martha Mayo, Daniel's widow, and mother of his children. The use of "consort" to refer to the husband is repeated with Capt. Solomon Harding's stone, 7 Feb 1800, on page 32 of the transcriptions. This matter needs another reader to clarify it, but I think the stone is pretty obviously that of Daniel Mayo. - DKew] 16 17 18
