Marriage Notes (Thankful Mayo)
"Thomas Rich, with his family, moved from Cape Cod to Connecticut about 1737, and joined the church at Middle Haddam in 1740. Connecticut colonial records show that he was made ensign in 1743.
On 7 Apr. 1752 his widow, Thankful Rich, was appointed guardian of their sons, Peter Rich, aged 16 years, and Eliakim Rich, aged 5 years. In May 1752 'a Memorial was presented to the Court by Thankful Rich, widow and administrator of Thomas Rich, late of Middletown, praying liberty to sell, which was granted to the Memorialist and to John Rich.' (Colonial Records of Connecticut, vol. 10, p. 80.)" - ER
Three Rich brothers - Thomas, John and Cornelius, with their young families, moved to the vicinity of Middletown, Connecticut. 7
