"They moved from Cape Cod to the central part of Massachusetts, lived in Hardwick, and eventually settled in Ware. In 1779 Apollos Rich, cordwainer of Hardwick, formerly of Truro, conveyed land to Jesse Rich of Truro.

The will of Apollos Rich of Ware, dated 29 Nov. 1826, was proved 1 Sept. 1835. In it he named his wife Abigail, his sons Andrew and Elkenah, five daughters, and a granddaughter Patty, who was the wife of Amasa Brown and daughter of the testator's son Elkenah. (Hampshire Probate Records.)"
