Provincetown native owned guest house here
Rose Marie Williams, 81, of Brewster, died Saturday, Jan. 5, at home after a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 11, 1926, in Provincetown, where she attended Provincetown High School. She lived in Provincetown, where she owned the Mrs. Williams Guest House on 12 Johnson St. After selling the guest house, she moved to North Truro and bought the Dunes Colony Cottages on Beach Point. After selling the cottages, she retired to Wellfleet where she lived for 20 years. Following the death of her husband, John N. Williams, she moved to Brewster.
Mrs. Williams was a member of the American Legion Morris-Light Post 71, VFW Lewis Young Post and Auxiliary of the Disabled American Veterans, all in Provincetown. She was also a member of St. Peter’s Church. She was an avid bingo player, gardener and Red Sox fan.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her three sons, Nolan of Brewster, Roland and his wife, Jane, of Lakeland, Fla., and Ronald of North Truro; and her four grandsons, John of Maine, Robert of Foxboro, Bryan of Dudley, and Eric of North Truro.
A graveside service will be held at a later date in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Provincetown. Donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
