ORLEANS \emdash Virginia "Ginny" Ellis, 80, died suddenly at home on Dec. 24.

Ms. Ellis was born in Eastham. She was a member of Orleans High School class of 1947 and graduate of Boston University class of 1951. She was a tenth generation Cape Codder who lived and worked in Boston for almost four decades returning to Orleans every weekend until returning home permanently following her retirement in 1993.

She is survived by her brother, Hollis Ellis of Naples, Fla.; four nephews and a niece. She was a great aunt to four and a great grand aunt to three. Her constant optimism and true dedication to her family will be sorely missed.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. in Orleans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Jimmy Fund C/O Dana Farber, 44 Binney St., Boston MA 02115.
