good & bad businesses
begun Sept 2005
revised Sept 2006

After a recent vacation weekend on Cape Cod, with both excellent and non-existent service at restaurants, I decided to organize our observations.
We're middle-aged, middle-class, with 3 kids, living in central Massachusetts.  Some of these observations are based on a single visit, and there's no accounting for taste anyway, so use these as just one family's opinion. These are reasonably recent.

Worcester & vicinity
Beechwood Inn , at the biotech park, Worcester - good food but poor service. multiple visits.
Sole Proprietor, Highland St, Worcester - upscale seafood, busy, very good. Multiple visits.
Tortilla Sams, Highland St, Worcester - fun, studentish, byob. Many visits.
Fred's Chinese Food - Fairlawn Plaza, Shrewsbury - excellent take-out Chinese. Several visits.
Harvest Moon, 75 West Boylson St, Worcester - we disagrree on whether it's good or very good take-out.
Chop House, Shrewsbury St, Worcester - up scale and stuffy. Once is enough.
Flying Rhino, Shrewsbury St, Worcester - interesting, good. A few times.
Gold Star Restaurant, 68 West Boylston St, Worcester - dinerish, nice for traditional brunch. several visits

Cape Cod
Fishmonger, Woods Hole - Lively, fun, lots of good food, usually excellent service. Many visits.

VR's, Rt 6, South Wellfleet - busy, friendly, good food. Several visits.
Orleans Pizza, crummy plaza, Orleans - very good, a few visits
Portuguese Bakery, Commercial St, Provincetown - our favorite in P-town, tiny and crowded, linguica croissants, bread pudding. Many times.
Captain Cass Seafood, Rock Harbor, Orleans - small, familyish, excellent
Cape Cod Bagels, Rt 28, Falmouth - our favorite Upper Cape weekend breakfast supply

Rookie's, Rt 6, South Wellfleet - poor service, adequate food
Betsey's Diner, Main St, Falmouth - awful service! Prior visits had been OK, but on our last visit we could not get anyone to take our order, even after asking, on a non-busy night. We left.
